- The view from the road near Sharpe Howe is among the best in the Yorkshire Wolds.
- The tiny St. James’ church in Fordon is the smallest active church in Yorkshire, possibly in England. With parts dating from Norman times, it has had a chequered history, reconsecrated at least twice, and reputedly serving for a time as a smugglers’ den, before being recently refurbished by the villagers.
